We would like the first article here to introduce the reader to the various styles of manga. There are mainly six different kinds of manga.

The first is Shoujo . which is meant for girls. It focuses on romantic stories, thought it can have other elements.

Josei manga can be described as the grown up version of Shoujo. While Shoujo is targeted at teenage girls, Josei’s target audience includes adult women. It’s stories, correspondingly, revolve around romances involving adults.

Yaoi or Slash manga covers male relationships, sexual and otherwise. This category, too, is mainly targeted at female audiences, though it has significant male readership. It contains plenty of pornographic material, making the reader base mainly adults and teens.

ecchi/hentai

Ecchi or Hentai manga is popularly known for pornographic elements. The reader base consists of adults or teens.

In future articles, we have a lot more manga to cover! We hope that by reading this blog, readers will have a more comprehensive idea of manga, and those who, till now, had very little exposure to it, will be converted to fans of this beautiful category of cartoons.

Awsomewinter

Awsomewinter

when my mom took care of babies my favorite story is about this toddler named eli who took a while to talk and everyone was concerned about it but one day my dad was like “eli, can you say ‘car’?” and he looks at my dad and goes “yes, i can. why do you ask?”

hades isn’t a badass. hades named his three-headed-guard-of-the-underworld-dog spot. hades whispers to his flowers to make them grow. hades grows fruit. there’s no sun in the underworld.

hades isn’t a badass. stop saying this false thing

In myth, Hades’ most remarked upon traits are 1) how responsible/reliable he is, 2) how sober-minded he is, 3) how dedicated, implacable, and long-remembering he is, and 4) how boring and grim most of the other Olympians think he is to be around. Oh and notably, that if you play him a song he likes, he’ll basically give you anything you ask for (though not without conditions.)

Hades is, canonically, a gigantic nerd. If they’d had train sets, he’d have been the Olympian who collected train sets, meticulously corrected with exacto knife and hobby-paints the errors toy-makers introduced to those train sets, and then endlessly talked about those train sets to anyone sat next to him at thanksgiving dinner (when he wasn’t trying to rope them into an interminable discussion about gardening or divine law, that is.)

He’s the sort of god who frequently handed out punishment like giving someone a million-piece puzzle where every piece is shaped the same, that resets itself at the start of every day if you don’t complete it, and then he keeps the last piece on his person at all times as a secret private joke for eternity because he finds you personally distasteful (not even because he’s mad at you or hates you particularly; he just doesn’t like you as a person)

He is. A. Gigantic. Nerd.

He’s also like one of the only gods who is faithful to his wife. And he listens to her like when she asks for a soul to be released and he’s like “But honey, the rules.” And she just gives him that look and he goes “Yes dear,” and lets the soul go with the easiest freaking instructions ever in a myth. And the human still fucks it up. Not his fault Persephone, not Hades’ fault this time.

real

Essentially, Hades is sorta like the accountant suburban dad who collects really specific figurines and gets really grumpy when people mess up his lawn. Do you know how hard his wife worked on those roses? He is calling his attorney. Oh wait, he is also an attorney.

Resources

Resources

At Elmcroft we understand the decision to place yourself or your loved one in another’s care is a complex one; there are many factors to consider. We would like to be a resource to help you make the decision that is best for you and your family based on your specific needs and wants. We have assembled some resources below to help, but we encourage you to reach out to one of our communities for assistance as well.

When It’s Time

What are the signs that a move to a senior living community might be a good option?

Mobility issues – difficulty with daily activities or frequent falls and other safety concerns

Memory loss – misplacing items or wandering away from home

Medication concerns – forgetting to take medications as prescribed

Lack of socialization – not interacting as usual; untidy surroundings and poor personal hygiene

Fear and depression – unwilling to seek medical help or assistance; withdrawal from others

Lack of appetite – not receiving proper nutrition throughout the day

If you or your family member are experiencing any of these signs the move to a senior living community may in fact be a very good option. Whether a long-term or short-term stay, seniors often improve through socialization, regular diet and medication management, as well as relieving the burden they often feel they have placed on their family. You are free to resume your relationship and enjoy the company of your loved one without the worry of providing for their needs.

Choosing the right community

You should take the time to visit the senior living communities you are interested in to see which will be the best fit for you. Each visit is an opportunity to get to know the community and staff better.

The Assisted Living Federation of America has developed an evaluation tool to help you get all the answers you are looking for before you choose the community that’s right for you.

Financial Considerations

How will you cover the cost of a senior living community? This is a concern for many families. Follow the link below to view the financial options available to seniors and their families

Making a successful transition

We understand that you, just like your loved one, are going through a life-changing transition. Our goal is to make that process as comfortable as possible – for both of you.

You will have more quality time with your loved one because our caregivers are doing their day-to-day physical care. And you will have peace of mind knowing that your loved one is getting 24-hour care and you can focus on your own health needs.

It will take you and your loved one time to adjust, but remember why you chose to make the move to a senior living community.

Give your relationship time to adjust. You are still an important part of your loved one’s life.

man

Take care of yourself. Allow time for physical exercise, rest and play. Nurture yourself.

Reconnect with friends; surround yourself with supportive people.

Making the decision to surround your loved one with trained professionals who can meet their needs is a selfless act. It is important that you understand you will still be involved in medication and level of care concerns and that no one lights up your loved one’s life like you, so visit often and cherish those moments.

Prospects for AGT Las Vegas Week per Yaoi Huntress Earth

Prospects for AGT Las Vegas Week per Yaoi Huntress Earth

Well, we’ve all been really busy here at Pure America’s Got Talent and so we haven’t been able to provide the commentary that we usually offer. However, Yaoi Huntress Earth has provided commentary in the comments of this post on the various day 2 acts potential in Las Vegas. Here’s her write up:

As for Day 2′s passed acts…

Echo of Animal Gardens (Animal Trainer) . It was nice, but wasn’t there another bird act earlier?

Vegas Week: She’s going to have to do more if she wants to go farther. The parrot singing alone isn’t going to cut it as a Vegas act.

Mrs. Smith (Performance Artist) . Sorta reminds me of Mary Ellen except with some talent and is a lot less painful on the eyes. Not a bad guitarist.

Vegas Week: Unless she can expand what she does, I don’t see her going beyond that. I’ll be interested to see what Peirs thinks.

Saint Luke’s Bottle Band (Bottle Band) . Fun just for how odd they are. I would like to see them take on some more contemporary stuff next time.

Vegas Week: Their novelty might get them into the Top 40, especially if they can do a variety of music.

Lys Agnes (Opera Singer) . I normally have a problem with singer who could compete on any generic singing show appearing on this one, but I’ll admit she’s really good and very pretty (just love her hair).

Vegas Week: Unless she really screws up, she’s a shoe-in for the Top 40.

The Midget Dancer . As much as I like midgets, I wouldn’t have put her through.

Vegas Week: I predict Vegas Week will be where it ends.

Those Funny Little People (Variety Act) . They remind me of the Zupper Stars. Cute in a creepy way for a little while, but then I wanted to see them do more. Though it was funny when they were tormenting Piers.

Vegas Week: It could go either way.

The Silhouettes (Dancers) . That was beautiful and one of the best auditions I’ve seen this year.

Vegas Week: They’ll pass and if they do what they did last year with giving ten acts an automatic slot, I could see them getting it.

real

The Kinetic King . That was very unique and fun, but I wonder how he’d sustain a show or top that.

Vegas Week: About a 70% chance of going through.

Takeshi Kaneshiro – a dream for the Japanese school girls or «simply stay silent and smile»

Takeshi Kaneshiro – a dream for the Japanese school girls or «simply stay silent and smile»

japan

Kaneshiro started his career as a singer and recorded albums in Cantonese and Mandarin under the nickname Aniki, which means “elder brother” in Japanese. Just because we do not have one strict point of view on the artistic value of Kaneshiro’s music creations, we would not reveal our subjunctive opinion concerning them, but to those of you who are still curious we may suggest you to search for some of his early musical exercises on YouTube.

What is beyond all doubts is his excellent acting ability. The first distinguishing role of Takeshi Kaneshiro in movies was the role of the quiet guy from Wong Kar-wai « Chungking Express» where Takeshi appeared to be at one shooting stage together with Tony Leung. Kaneshiro’s early roles are versatile and not all of the movies he took part in at the beginning of his career can be considered valuable events in the cinema world. Rather interesting film called «Mou mian bei» was shot by Sammo Hung. Takeshi played a young cop assigned to the position of Department Chief having excellent education. He was hanging quite awesomely in pair with Sammo Hung but that time could not reach the level of real star though.

Klebkatt, host and creator of Bad Fanfiction Theater, I <3 Fanfiction, Read Not, and The Not Art, has worked tirelessly to produce and release new content at least weekly, even without regular reliable home internet connection, even during the bedbug infestation that plagued her community, even after the tragic passing of her mother last year. She's one of the kindest and most hard-working people I know or have ever known, and I consider myself fortunate not only to know her, but also to be her regular co-host.

She has slowly built her viewership and works hard to continue that trend. However, another hurdle has reared its head.

In short, her computer is in desperate need of replacing. It's starting to fail in a number of ways, and she's begun to identify the sure signs that it's on its last legs. It is her only functioning system, and she uses it for all of her work, including audio and video production and editing. This is her livelihood. She no longer has a working car, and jobs are not plentiful around here. Things are definitely looking up with her series -- and she does an incredible amount of work to produce all of these series regularly and with such consistent quality, including walking to the library every week to upload and administrate -- but she needs help for such a significant cost.

We need all the help we can get!

There's a tumblr post here if you'd be so kind as to help us reblog and get the word out!
