FAQ

Who are you and what are you doing here?

I am the person most often known as Cain. Depending on how you came to know me, you may recognize me as HH (Himitsu Hitori), Greighish, COM801, Aisemei or SundayMorningBooks (this one is so old, if this is how you knew me… wow…. how did you even find me?), among others. Why so many names? Many reasons, but none of them really matter now. In the simplest terms, I like to reinvent myself every once in a while.

Hello. I’m Cain my mind is always on so I do a lot of stuff. I write about anything that interests me. On some days and about somethings I’m really obsessive, but I can be equally non-committal and lazy. My current life-goal is to be a Dokusatsu Hentai Hero–not really. Actually I’m looking forward to joining the ranks of the Kotobuki Taisha–I love it that there is actually a term for what I want to do. Anyway…

Why should I read anything you write?

I can’t really answer that, but I will say that I am an honest writer and I take my work seriously, more seriously than I take myself.

What should I expect from this site?

Expectations are the shortest routes to disappointment. Just come here to engage in conversations about yaoi, art, design, movies, books, and life.

Just a warning though, I only write from  my  views and express  my  thoughts (the two are not the same) and I do not censor myself to be politically correct regarding or considerate of the multitude of issues and landmines that people have. And I’m sure at some point I’m going to offend someone. However, I do choose my words carefully because they have meaning–multiple meanings. And although I mean what I say, somethings are jokes (in good and bad taste), somethings are devil’s advocacy, and somethings are generalizations and should be accepted as such because defining, categorizing, qualifying, and clarifying everything I write would turn even the briefest of posts into a dissertation. As well, generally speaking, it’s impossible to cover every single point of view and tangential thought or hypothesis in any one article or volume. This is why there are so many articles and books about the same core subject and those unnumbered authors haven’t been called out for plagiarism. So what’s voiced here is just my perception and not even all of it, because, as I just mentioned, it isn’t possible and, though it may be hard to believe, there are times when I don’t feel like writing at length about something. It happens … occasionally.

I like the way you write; do you take requests for reviews and such?

First, thanx; I am happy to know that you feel that way.

Second, I suppose I can, but within reason and only for subscribers, friends or money. I don’t like Chitose Piyoko, CJ Michalski, or Minami Haruka, so I won’t accept any requests concerning their work. I have read Gochisousama by CJ Michalski and although I enjoyed it, I won’t be writing anything on it. For all other requests, you can forward your interests via this form ; just be aware that requesting does not guarantee granting. If I deny your request, I will give you a reason why.

Third, a note regarding my reviews… Most reviews have 2 forms: the full-length reviews are posted on this site and the concise reviews– which are written to conform to Barnes & Noble’s standards: 3500 character limit and consideration for restricted words–are posted on the following sites (click to see my review profiles):

If your request has restrictions that conflict with my natural style, but I still agree to write it, it will be written in the concise format and I will release the full-length review one week after the forums above have been updated. Additionally, if a story (art and other metrics aside) scores below a 2.5 by my standards, I will allow you to preview my reading notes before writing the review, so that you can decide if you would like for me to continue or not. Also, be warned that even if we agree that I will not write the review as a result of that particular request, I reserve the right to publish a review of the title at a later date. However, I will wait at least five months before doing so and if the original was a review copy/file, I will purchase my own copy before publishing.

Can I repost XXXX on YYYY?

real

Will you ever host downloads of the stuff you write about?

The short answer is… “No”.

The long answer is… too long, so if you really want to know, you can inform me of your interest via this form .
