I know probably more people are familiar with Saved By The Bell, however I always felt it was younger kid oriented knock off of Beverly Hills 90210.

You should look at Andrea Zuckerman, from the original Beverly Hills 90210 series. She handed out birth control in her high school and demanded that the school newspaper promote Gun Control after a nerdy student accidentally shot himself. I don't think Jessie Spano did much more than talk about her most radical beliefs.

Andrea fights with Brandon to change an article to remember the tragically shot Scott Scanlon into pulpit to promote her gun control beliefs.
